EXO-L Japan Official Book #20 Translation: Love You Baby with Sehun and Vivi

cr: Huge thanks to Quinsehun for this translation

JP: Let us know your impressions of the photo shoot with your dog Vivi!
SH: We have filmed MV together before but this is our first time for a photo shoot so I was a bit worried about whether he would be calm and let us take photos. But it turned out that he was behaving better than I expected so I’m relieved now. It was so fun and I’m very happy that we are able to take photos together! Vivi is already 8 years old so he gets tired easily. I have to take him home soon (laughs)

JP: How do you usually spend time with Vivi?
SH: Normally, Vivi stays at my parents’ house, but I often take him to my place or visit him at my parents’ house. Because I’m busy and can’t be with him all the time so when I have the chance to meet him I want to play with him as much as I can, but there are also times when we end up just lazying around at home together. We also often go for walks, but we never wear matching outfits (couple look) like we did today (laughs)

JP: What are the things that you become aware of when communicating with Vivi?
SH: Since I can’t meet him frequently, so when we are together I dote on him and play with him as much as I can! Vivi remembers all the things I do for him so I try not to do my errands as much as possible and just concentrate on playing with Vivi. Vivi knows many tricks such as hand, sit, lie down, nose touch, etc, but they are all tricks that my older brother taught him so I’m just slightly annoyed (laughs). He (Vivi) hasn’t been able to spin around on the spot yet so I’m secretly thinking of teaching that to him!

JP: Please tell us an episode of the time you met Vivi!
SH: I first met Vivi when I was about 22 years old. It was such a busy and tiring period (for me). At that time, I happened to meet Vivi by chance. Of course I thought he was cute, but how to say this… It just felt like a fate. I thought that “I have to bring him home no matter what”. I had never had any experience of raising a dog before, nor had I ever thought of raising one, but I remember that was what I felt the moment I saw Vivi. I also discussed it with my parents as it was my first time raising a dog, but it wasn’t hard at all and it was just fun (raising him)!

JP: What is Vivi to Sehun?
SH: Vivi always comforts me. It was all thanks to Vivi that I was able to overcome my past slump. Vivi did something that no one else could do. And that’s why it’s hard for me to describe what he is to me in just one word.

JP: Is there something that you have learned from Vivi?
SH: Dogs can’t talk, but they act based on their feelings. Like when they are sulking, they wouldn’t come if you called them (laughs). When I see them like that, I think they are no different from us. They understand human languages such as hand, high touch, etc, and are able to communicate with us well. That’s why I always try to treat Vivi with feelings as well, rather than just treating him as a pet.

JP: Are you the type to relax at home or go out during your day off?
SH: It’s actually half-half, but if I go by what I feel then I’m the type to relax at home. Even though I want to stay at home, I still find myself going out (laughs). When I’m at home, I immediately feel like I want to move my body. I have been hiking mountains a lot recently. I also run along Hangang Park, sometimes I play golf as well. I undoubtedly like to exercise my body out in nature. It also heals you spiritually. It’s a little embarrassing to say this myself, but my golf plays recently have been good. There are times that I score just a little bit below 80. I guess my continued practices have paid off (laughs)

JP: Are you the type to sleep in pajamas or sweatshirts and sweatpants?
SH: I’m more of a pajama person, but I actually only wear my pants. When I sleep or I spend time at home during the day, of course I’m just wearing my pants. Regardless of the season, I’m half-naked (at home) (laughs). It’s just easier not to wear a top for some reason. That’s why I don’t buy pajamas in a set. I don’t like designs that are too cute. I think I have many simple-designed ones. As for the material, like it to be 100% cotton!
